The Elba Island

The Elba island is known throughout the world for its beauty and its mild climate.
Thanks to its incredible conformation, the landscapes are many: from the crystalline beaches to the centuries-old chestnut woods to the granite massif of Monte Capanne (1019 meters).

The History

The history of Elba is closely linked to the presence of different populations over the centuries, such as the Etruscans, the Lombards, the Pisans, the Spaniards and the Saracens. Let’s not forget Napoleon’s banishment at Elba that created the Elban flag. It is possible, even today, to visit the ancient houses of the French emperor in Portoferraio at the villa dei Mulini and the villa di San Martino.

The Holidays

Elba offers many possibilities to spend a wonderful holiday: from visiting the numerous churches, to diving; from the cable car on Monte Capanne, to the wonderful beaches. It is possible to take part in numerous and interesting tours around the country, discover the wines and flavors of our land, as well as the precious stones from local mines, which can be purchased at the stores.
